Big Horn River Fishing Update
February 19, 2012 9:54 pm 2 CommentsWith another round of nice weather this weekend the Bighorn continued to fish very well. Fish continue to remain stacked up in slower inside bends or in the slow “guts” of the runs. The midge hatch has been fairly consistent each day. The fish seem to be responding to them and feeding on the surface in certain areas, more so on cloudy overcast days. Look for single midges and midge clusters both throughout the day. Streamers are still providing consistent action throughout the river.
Best Bighorn River Dry Flies: Griffith’s Gnat, Parachute Adams, Transitional Midge, Birschell’s Hatching Midge
Best Bighorn River Nymph Patterns: Ray Charles (Grey), Firebead Ray Charles (Pink), Red Midge Larva, Black Midge Larva & Pupa

Really enjoy your blog. Thanks for all of it…
Thanks Doug! We are currently overhauling the site to hopefully make it even better. We should have the new one launched in the next few weeks.
