Big Horn River Fly Fishing Report

Wonder Nymph

The Bureau of Rec has given us some temporary relief as they have dropped the flows from 6,500 cfs to 6,000 cfs.  Over the past few days there has been fish up on dry flies!  Good midge hatches and a few baetis around and some fish are taking notice.  A baetis point fly with your favorite midge is a good way to cover the fish feeding on the surface.

The boat fishing continues with nymphs continues to be very good throughout the river.

Effective patterns: Ray Charles, Firebead Ray Charles, Zebra Midge, Yong Midge, Wonder Nymph, Black Quill, CDC Sparkle Dun, The Student, Birschell’s Hatching Midge, Hanging Midge, Palomino Midge
