The flows have been coming up on the Bighorn recently and will continue to be raised slightly the next couple of days. Lots of wades spots have opened up more with the extra water and more fish moving into the softer areas.
The extra flows will help increase the fish’s appetites. Today a variety of sow bugs worked well, but fish were still taking midge larva and pupa and there was also some sporadic surface activity during the midge hatches. A few baetis were spotted but some stronger winds in the afternoon kept the fish focused on subsurface food.
