The river bumped up to 5500 cfs yesterday and the river became a weedy mess and fishing conditions were tough. Today was a different story the river stabilized, the moss cleared out on the upper 3 miles and the nymph fishing was good. Sowbugs have become the name of the game in grey, tan and pink. Midge pupa and baetis nymphs dropped behind your sowbugs will also take fish.
The river is scheduled to go up to 6000 cfs sometime monday and should throw the river off temporarily again. Hopefully the river level will remain steady after that and the dry fly fsihing will pick up again.
