Steve gives an update from the stream on the fishing conditions on the Bighorn River.

 

Effective Bighorn River Fly Patterns:

Midges: Parachute Adams, Griffith’s Gnat, Twilight Midge, cream larva, black beauty, olive larva, jailbird midge

Blue Winged Olives:  Skinny Bill, Wonder Nymph, Black Quill, Barr’s Vis A Dun, CDC Sparkle Dun

      Jerry, thanks for the comment.

      Here is the recipe. try not to tie it too long on the shank of the hook, shorter is better and skinnier is better.

      Tail: wood duck or mallard flank
      body: uni 8/0 light cahill thread.
      Rib: Fine gold wire
      Thorax: pinch of tannish/yellow dubbing
      Flash over the top of the thorax
