The baetis are starting to thin out but in the upper 3, lots of fish are still keying on in baetis nymphs in size 20 and 22. Quill nymphs and Wonder nymphs are working well from mid-morning to late afternoon. Still some baetis dry fly action to be had but fish are getting picky after being worked over for so long now. Long, light leaders, spot-on casts and near-perfect drifts are a must now. Some spinner fall action in the evening.
PMD nymphs are a hot item the lower you go on the river. Fish are still working on baetis but also taking advantage of any PMD that floats by.
If some cloud cover rolls in, wind or early/late in the day, through light streamers followed by a small dark streamer.
With the number of PMD nymphs around (and even a few hatching), the PMD dry fly action should be taking off within the next couple of weeks.
