Bighorn River Fishing Report: March Midge Madness

The above average temperatures have really created excellent midge fishing on the Bighorn River for quite some time now. With weekend temperatures reaching 70 degrees the midges emerged in force and the fish were all over them.

Sowbugs with a midge dropper are very effective right now. Grey, tan and firebead versions are working well.

Black, olive, red and root beer midge nymphs are working well. Various dries in size 18-22 are working well on the surface. The warm weather has beatis already coming out too.
