As the water flows have dropped the past few days, so has the water temperature. Fish are finding homes in a little bit of everything as they adjust to the changes.
The yellow sally hatch has slowed some with the temp drop but the PMDs are still going strong and bringing fish up. As warm weather brings the water temps back up, the hatches will regain momentum although fish are readily looking up in certain areas.
Worms have lost some of their effectiveness although will still catch some fish. Small natural sow bugs are really effective but be sure to add a pheasant tail or some other PMD nymph to the setup early afternoon. Any slower water on the sides has been good for some dry fly action out of the boat.
