This past weekend was the first really nice weekend since winter started. Nice warm weather and not too much wind brought a lot of people to the river to celebrate the end of winter and the start of fishing season.
Moderate midge hatch started to happen about mid-day but the wind did come up just enough to keep fish from rising. Fish were more than happy to eat dark colored pupa and emergers.
Natural sow bugs are also working really well.
The recent warm weather has Soap Creek pushing muddy water in so below there the fishing slows down quite a bit. Once the low level snow melts off the creek will slow down a little bit but the higher elevation snow will really get it off color once we get consistent warm days.
