Bighorn River Fishing Update 2/25

Between the wind and well, the wind, there’s been some small windows of opportunity on the Bighorn.  Those who have made it down have had good things to say.  Winter tailwater fishing at its’ finest right now.

Bighorn fish are eating well the entire span of the river, mainly subsurface.  Nymphing with Cotton Candy’s, Jellybeans, Graveyard Midges, Carpet Bugs and Zebras are about all you need right now.  Find that slower paced 4-6′ deep water and fish it thoroughly.

This is one of our favorite times of the year to SWING (w/ a 2 handed rod) as well.  Throw on a good sink tip and go to town!  Small leeches, buggers, little stuff are the goods.  Single handers are just as good too!

We’re around the shop now most all mornings for shuttles, flies and advice.  We’ve got some killer new Bighorn patterns for 2021, which will be posted up shortly as well!
