The river recently went up to 12,000 cfs and may go up even higher with the lake at almost full pool. Since the water went up the dry fly fishing out there has definitely slowed up especially the Pale Morning Duns and the Yellow Sallies. There are quite a few black caddis out and the terrestrial fishing will get better as the summer goes on.
Everyone wants to know when the river will peak for the season and flows will start to drop for good and come down to more traditional flows, unfortunately at this point only mother nature knows.
Until then hang tight with the nymph game, take advantage of any dry fly opportunities and don’t forget about the streamer fishing. We will update you further with changing water conditions once we know.
