Overall the traffic on the river has been quite light. Most people are hunting, over on the west coast chasing steelhead or searching for spawning browns on rivers such as the Yellowstone, Madison and Missouri rivers.
While floating grass and weeds have affected the fishing as of late, it is the Bighorn after all and there are still plenty of fish to be had. Nymphing the riffles has been productive or wherever you can find clean weed free areas. The streamer bite has been solid, better on some days than other. When fishing your streamers this time of year utilize the entire river. The consistent dry fly action has faded out, but you will find a few fish on top here and there.
