mmm…..Trico Guide David Palmer Photo
For the dry fly purist seeing clouds of tricos hanging over the river’s surface and big trout slurping calmly on the rivers soft edges is as good as it gets. Over the past month the trico emergence has produced some great fishing on the Bighorn. The hatch should hopefully linger a little bit longer as we slowly move towards October. The river is now carrying it’s green fall color and nymphing has been ok. Streamers on cloudy days for those willing to work around the river full of weeds can pick up some nice fish.
