Bighorn River Trout Fishing Report

Bighorn River Trout Fishing Report

We had a few days of really good hopper fishing this week, but with the cooler weather and rain last night the hopper bite slowed down today. It should pick up in the next few days again with more hot and dry weather on the way.  There were quite a few small black beetles and ants around today that had fish interested.

The nymphing underneath has been good with pink sowbugs and PMD nymphs bringing the most consistent action.  Midges and baetis nymphs are still working well on the upper 3 especially also.

Best Bighorn River Nymph Patterns:  Pink Killerbug, Soft Hackle Sowbug, JuJu PMD, Splitback PMD, PMD Wondernymph, and of course the Ray Charles in both pink and grey.
