Bighorn River Trout Fishing

Bighorn River Trout Fishing

The 2011 runoff has finally peaked and the river is finally on it’s way down. The Bighorn River will be dropping in flows today from 12,000 cfs to 10,000 cfs today and will be dropping another 2,000 cfs sometime next week.  With colder water temperatures coming out of the dam due to flow reductions look for the fishing to really heat up, especially on the surface.  It is going to get goooooood out there.

Still a few lingering Caddis and PMD’s out there,  a few black caddis as well.  Look for the caddis emergence to become denser as the drops.
