80 degrees and sunny the last day of March? Yup, the incredible weather continued today and the insect emergence’s followed right along. Midges were dominant all day with a hatch early in the am and another hatch in the early afternoon. The Blue Winged Olive hatch joined the party today around two in afternoon until about 3:30. Midge clusters made the fish ferocious feeders before dark.
Nymphing was also quite good today……Most of the fish were filled with cream and olive midges along with a few baetis nymphs.
There was also a great turnout today for the Bighorn River Alliance river cleanup. Thanks to everyone who participated.
