THE BIGHORN RIVER HAS BEEN THE BEST TROUT RIVER IN THE WORLD THE PAST FEW DAYS! The river is very clean weed and moss wise for September, the fish are still stacked in the fast water and bugs continue to emerge daily.

The nymph fishing right now has been as good as it gets.  The fish have been gorging on black caddis pupa and pink sowbugs(Killerbugs, soft hackle sows and pink SH Rays).  The grey ray, Zebra midge olive quill and black p tail have all been working well also.

Dry fly fishing has been quite good as well.  Pmd’s are trickling off on the upper 3 and spinner falls have been good also.  Black caddis continue to bring fish up from 10 to 2 and then again before dark.  Our biggest brown yesterday came on the ant, still.

Nymphing in the lower river has been great as well with a san juan worm and a tan caddis pupa. Dry fly fishing down there will consist of ants, sallys/pmds, tan caddis and black caddis.

Streamer fishing is getting good!
