The Dry Fly Action Staying Hot

PMDs are pretty much done although you’ll see a stray one here and there.

The trico hatch and spinner fall this morning was pretty decent and brought up some really nice fish. Shortly after the spinner fall faded, black caddis starting hatching and tan caddis are coming off in the upper 3 enough to keep fish up and going really strong below Three Mile to make a whole day of dry fly fishing.

If you can’t find a spot to pull over to work fish, throw a tan caddis out of the boat like you would a hopper. Fish are coming up across the whole river for the big caddis.

What size are tricos and Tan caddis. What color are tan caddis pupae. We’ll be staying with you first week of Sept…..

The tricos are anywhere from size 18-22. The tan caddis are size 14 and 16. The pupae are a brownish/yellow, not green like some other caddis species.
