This Bighorn River video was shot on May 13th of this year late in the evening during an incredible midge hatch. The water was running at 6,500 cfs and the hatch lasted between 7 and 9:30pm. The best flies that evening were a size 20 cdc grey sparkle dun, size 22 parachute adams and a griffith’s gnat.
The evening fishing on the Bighorn is some of the best. Often times while others are eating dinner the best hatches occur on the river.
