End of September/ First of Fall Report

For the most part the Bighorn fishing conditions remain the same.   Our biggest difference right now is the abundance of Psuedos in the afternoons, providing for some challenging, but good dry fly fishing.  Also, the crowds seem to have disappeared for the year.  The water is gaining clarity, although the grass is still an issue.  It’s getting a little better folks….

Wade fishing is a good option to dodge the vegetation, especially below 3 Mile.  Sowbugs, Orange Scuds and Pseudo nymphs were all top producing bugs this past week from the boat and on foot.  The ol’ Squirmy is still producing if you feel like going that route.

Look for the streamer fishing to improve with these fall conditions and dropping water temps.  Small bugs are key during the fall months.  Black, olive and ginger have been the best colors as of late.

If you need a good deal on gear, NOW IS THE TIME!  Give us a call at the shop and we’ll hook you up.
