Thanksgiving Week Bighorn Fishing Report

Thanksgiving Week Bighorn Fishing Report

Awesome fishing continues on the Bighorn. Streamers, dries, nymphs, take your pick, it’s all great right now.  A bit busier on the weekends, but nothing like Spring or Summer traffic.  We have amazing weather for the next week, so come enjoy the best the Bighorn has to offer!

BWO’s continue to come off in great #’s.  We’ve had some serious wind lately, which has put a damper on the dry fly deal, so make sure to check the weather ahead of time.  There are a lot of Psuedos still mixed in and some fish are keyed on them more so than the big 18 duns.  Just be prepared with all sorts of CDC type patterns from 18-22.

Streamer fishing is still really solid throughout the entire system.  Water temps are on the drop still, so if you’re not pulling them off the banks, dredge the middle of the river.  A slower retrieve right now, almost a slight dead drift, can be deadly right now.  Some people say white has been the color, other say black or olive.  Honestly, the fish are just eating a well fished pattern of any color!

If you prefer to rack up some #’s, the nymphing is still really good.  Big Orange scuds, tan sowbugs (Carpet bugs, SH Rays), Black Quills, Wondernymphs and Zebras are all good choices.

Winter lodging and guide rates are still in effect, so call us for some great deals!
