Bighorn River Fishing Report 6/19

It looks like Summer is officially here!  Flows are currently at 4000 cfs and talk of dropping to 3500 is a probability.  The river remains gin clear with some drifting moss below 3 Mile.  The fishing has been very steady this past week and we are impressed with the size and quantity of big fish in the system!

We’re a bit in between dry fly season, as June usually is here.  Baetis are still making an appearance on the cloudy days and a few fish are looking up for them.  The nymphing has been pretty darn good all day.  Scuds and Sowbugs on the Upper 3 and Sowbugs and Perdigons below 3 seem to be the combination.  A few PMD’s have been spotted, so fingers crossed!

Streamer fishing has been good, especially when it’s cloudy, so that’s always a fun option.  White or Olive are the colors in a variety of patterns.
