Fishing is really starting to pick up on the Bighorn. Flows are up to 3200 CFS as of this morning and the river remains nice and clear. It’s getting a bit busier out there, but still plenty of good spots to get into fish.
The Spring Baetis are starting to make a big appearance and we’re seeing more and more fish on them daily. It’s not lights out yet, but we’re guessing about a week or so away.
Nymphing has been very good with Carpet Bugs, Tailwater Sows, Rays, MacGruber’s, LBF’s, Quills and various Cream and Olive Midge pupa. With the increase in flows, run your rigs a bit deeper and more weight.
We’re looking forward to the next few weeks of fishing as it’s getting into prime time!
