Bighorn River Fishing Report 2/25
Finally! The weather is nice enough to get out and fish (besides the wind lately). The folks who made it out the last few days reported pretty epic fishing, mostly nymphs and streamers. This is one of our favorite times to fish the river as it is at its cleanest point of the year.
Nymphing is pretty easy right now. Stick to Sowbugs and Midges and the odd Scud. PINK is the color and will be for quite a while. The key, as always, this time of year is finiding the fish. Keep to slower moving 3-6′ deep runs.
Streamer fishing is also really good too! Still want to use a longer sink tip and fish the deep troughs. Pete’s Bugger, Lil’ Kims, Goldies, Blondies, etc, it’s all working.
THE BIGHORN ANGLER FLY SHOP WILL BE FULLY OPEN THIS THURSDAY FOR THE SEASON. CURRENT HOURS ARE 8 AM – 1 PM, FOR NOW, UNTIL IT GETS BUSY..
