Bighorn River Fishing Report May 9
It’s been a solid past few days on the Bighorn as fishing has stabilized and has been very consistent, especially for large fish. Our guides are bringing in good numbers of fish as well. Water temps are still a bit cooler but this is great news for the upcoming Summer.
Nymphing with Carpet Bugs, LBF’s, MacGrubers, Quills, JuJu Baetis, Graveyard midges and various other small bugs has been very reliable. A few fish are sliding up to the shelves during the Baetis emergence in the afternoons.
Still not much for surface activity. A few fish are found up on the cloudy days or late in the afternoons. Plenty of Baetis and Midges are around, but we need a few more degrees to get these lazy fish looking up!
This is a great time to see the Bighorn in prime Spring shape!
