When and What to Fish

Spring
March – Late May
Spring Beatis & Midges. Low, clean, clear water. Outstanding nymph fishing , plenty of dry fly windows

Late Spring
Late May – Late June
Transition to summer. Dry fly fishing is limited, but June is usually one of the best nymph fishing months

Early Summer
Early July – Late August
Prime time on the bighorn. Good hopper fishing late June early July. PMD & Caddis hatches begin mid July. Fish don’t mind the traffic

Late Summer/Early Fall
Early Sept – Nov
Solid tricos is the prime hatch for dry flyers. Terrestrials turn back on in Sept & Oct. Excellent Fall Beatis Late Oct-Nov. Streamer fishing can be fantastic.

Late Summer/Early Fall
Dec-Mar
Solitude and solid fishing, particularly nymphing in deep, slow water
