Bighorn River Fishing Report 9/19

We’re getting into transition mode which is typical for this time of season.  The Summer hatches of Caddis are winding down and each day has been a bit different, but Fishing has been very solid overall.  We’ve resorted to mainly nymphing and streamer fishing, but there are still a handful of fish rising.

For nymphing our guides are doing well on Orange Scuds, Tailwater Sows, Carpet Bugs, Flashback PT’s, Duracells and various small perdigons.  We’ve been running a bit deeper and heavier in the mornings and then shortening up to 4-5′ and lighter weight for the afternoon hours.

Streamer fishing has picked up considerably, especially on the cloudier or low light periods.  Thin Mints, Lil Kim’s and various standard Bighorn Streamer patterns in Olive, Black and Olive/white are working well.

Shop hours have cut back a bit since traffic has slowed.  We’re here everyday from 7:30 AM – 6 PM
