A New Year on the Bighorn River

Wayne Arnson picked this guy up last week streamer fishing.

Happy New Year from the Bighorn Angler!  We’re looking forward to 2020 to being a better year as the fish and fishery are in great shape. The fishing has been as good as it gets for winter fishing!  As long as I don’t break my ankle or something else this year, I’ll call it a success!

Show season starts this month and we’ll soon be in Denver to see our friends and guests.  Be sure to stop by the Denver Mart this weekend and stop by the booth to say hi!

January 3,4,5

A few folks are out taking advantage of the warmer than average weather.  Fishing has been very good for most.  Fish are full of big Scuds and Sowbugs.  Carpet Bugs, Softhackle Rays and Red Midge Larva were consistent producers this past week.  Streamer fishing has slowed down with the decrease in water temps, but is pretty decent overall.

The Bighorn is crystal clear and free of grass and will continue that way for a long time.

Our calendar is filling up for this next season, so be sure to get your dates in with your favorite guides and lodging on the Bighorn!
