Bighorn River Fishing Update July 7

We’re getting closer, but water temps need to come up just a bit.  Flows are still stable at 1750-1800 CFS and the river remains Gin clear with some drifting vegetables below 3 Mile.  Keep your flies clean and the fish will eat them!

A couple of PMD’s around, but not the main push yet.  We’ve seen pretty good numbers of Baetis still, and even some fish looking up for them later in the day.  We’ll give it another week…

Nymphing has been fairly productive, with some days better than others.  Carpet Bugs, Red Bead Rays, Split Case PMD’s, Zebra Midges, Quills and Wondernymphs are good choices.

And finally, we’re getting few fish on streamers if you can keep em’ clean!
