Bighorn River Fishing Update June 21
Bighorn River flows have stabilized at 7000 CFS. As of now, we will not see the projected max flow of 9500, which is fine with us! The fish have really settled into their new homes and are eating really well. The river is in fantastic shape with crystal clear flows and water temps are slowly on the rise.
Worms, Big Sowbugs (12-14), Orange Scuds, Zebra Midges and a few Baetis nymphs here and there are getting the job done. We’re starting to see a lot of fish in the shallower insides, so double check before you wade out into a spot.
Big streamers, little streamers, they’ll eat em’ now! The Bighorn is in prime streamer shape and is definitely one of the best windows we’ll see all year.
Crowds are fairly light right now, so if you’re thinking about heading out here, it might not be a bad idea…
