Bighorn River Fishing Update May 15

James and Anna had an excellent dry fly session with BA guide John Sindland yesterday

Fishing is plugging along here on the Bighorn.  Cloudy days have provided tremendous Baetis hatches in the afternoons with good numbers of fish up on them.  There aren’t many fish up on the sunny days until evening hours.

Most folks are putting up good numbers of fish nymphing with Sowbugs, Scuds and Baetis nymphs.  Pink bead or Red bead Carpet Bugs and Rays followed by and LBF, Quill, Wayno’s Baetis and various Perdigons are getting the job done.  We have a bunch of new patterns in the shop this season, so be sure to come check them out!

The river is in great shape and we’re not expecting any flow increases.  If anything, we might see a drop coming, but there’s still some Spring ahead of us!
