Bighorn River Fishing Update November 19, 2021
Well things were starting to turn around last week with the water clearing a bit. After the ferocious winds and varying weather patterns this past week, it looks like things have been stirred up making up for somewhat challenging fishing. In other words, the fishing kind of sucks but there are fish to be caught… We’re hoping that changes with the weather settling back to normal.
If you do venture out make sure you have plenty of Orange scuds, worms (chenille and squirmy), Carpet bugs and Zebra Midge style patterns.
The streamer bite has been OK and we are seeing a handful of big fish. The Thin mint seems to be the #1 bug, with the Grinch, Pete’s bugger, JR’s Minnow and Hot bead squirrel leeches good options as well.
If you like catching little fish on dry flies, it’s pretty good right now. I don’t think the bigger fish are enjoying the off color water conditions but there are a handful to be found. Lots of Psuedos and handful of bigger Baetis mixed in.
We’re in the shop pretty much everyday. 8- noon or so. Give us a call outside those hours if you need anything!
