Bighorn River Fishing Update November 7, 2021

Conditions are improving on the Bighorn as nightime temps have dropped, which is what we’ve been waiting for.  The river is still a bit green and the grass is still around, although quite a bit cleaner than it has been.  This hasn’t kept the fishing from eating though!

We’ve started to see the Fall BWO’s along with Psuedos and even a few Tricos later in the mornings.  The cloudy days have fish looking up for a pretty good window.  We’re seeing a lot of small fish looking up but plenty of good single fish as well.

Nymphing has been consistent from Afterbay to Bighorn with the standard fare.  Orange Scuds, Carpet Bugs, Worms, Frenchies, Psuedo nymphs and PT’s.  Some folks are doing well on zebra midge style patterns too.

Streamer fishing has been getting better and better!  Thin mints, Bighorn Buggers, Pete’s Bugger, Grinch, Lil’ Kims and leech style stuff are must haves.
