Bighorn River Update March 4 2020

It looks like we’re going to have a great weekend ahead of us.  We’ll be around the shop all week and weekend so come in and pick up a new license, flies, shuttle, or whatever else.

Nymphing continues to be the most productive fish catching method.  I would say it’s consistent, but inconsistent.  Meaning, one day is really good, the next day is ok.  I guess we just have to figure out if they’re eating on the odd days or even days!  This crazy wind we have certainly hasn’t helped with the barometer either. Standard winter patterns – Carpet Bugs, SH Rays, Cotton Candies and SH Sows in pink are still the pick.  You’ll get the odd fish on little midge stuff as well right now.

Lots of new gear rolling into the shop this week.  We’ll have product updates starting here shortly on our webstore and blog.  There’s some pretty exciting stuff for 2020!

Also, this week, there is a big meeting happening in Fort Smith with Montana FWP and the future of our fishery.  We’ll let you know what happens!
