It is fully game on!  PMD’s and Caddis have exploded the past few days.  Water temps remain in the low to upper 50’s (depending on the time of the day).  Dries, Nymphs, Streamers, it’s about as good as Summer fishing gets right now!  No hoot owl restrictions for us!

We’re seeing a couple good windows throughout the river about 9-10 AM and then again late afternoon.  Read more...

Bighorn River flows have dropped to 2500 CFS as of today.  We should stay in this range for the rest of the Summer.  This is a great thing!  The water is cold and clear and setting up nicely for our Summer hatches.

A few PMD’s and Black Caddis have started showing up, but we’re a couple weeks out still for primetime.  Read more...

It looks like Summer is officially here!  Flows are currently at 4000 cfs and talk of dropping to 3500 is a probability.  The river remains gin clear with some drifting moss below 3 Mile.  The fishing has been very steady this past week and we are impressed with the size and quantity of big fish in the system! Bighorn River flows are stable at 5000 cfs. The river is super clear, but there is some drifting junk below 3 Mile.  There are still plenty of wade options at this flow.  Most importantly, fish are happy and eating well!

Sowbugs and little Baetis nymphs and Perdigons are the name of the game right now for bobber fishing.  Read more...

Well it looks like the B.O.R. flow forecast was a bit off for this month.  Flows will be back up to 5000cfs as of this afternoon.  The river fished great yesterday during the flow bump.  We just need to get it to stop raining!

The Baetis have come back pretty heavy later in the afternoons on the cloudier days. Read more...

Bighorn River flows have stabilized at 4k CFS.  There was talk of going to 3500, but looks like they’re holding off for a bit.  The river is in great shape although there is just a bit of drifting moss below 3 Mile. It’s all fishing really well!

Our Spring Baetis have been a bit hit and miss.  Read more...

Flows have stabilized right around 4500 CFS and the fish seem to be liking it!

The Baetis showed up big time in the cloudy weather yesterday and fish were looking up later afternoon.  We’ll see what the sunny days bring, but the hatch should keep getting better and better!

Nymphing has been rock solid out of the gate in the morning.  Read more...

We just got news that flows are on the drop according to the Bighorn River Alliance.  Flows will be at 5000 cfs today and 4500 by tomorrow.  This means great news for Spring dry fly fishing and more wade fishing spots!

If you haven’t made a reservation for a Spring trip, we do have a few slots still open.  Read more...

Looks like flows are scheduled to drop to 5500 CFS by Monday afternoon.  From that point, we’ll see, but should keep on the drop. Fishing has been very very good lately with lots of happy anglers out there!

The Baetis are starting to show up and some days we’re finding fish up in the afternoons and evenings.  Read more...

Fishing has been really good the past few days since flows have stabilized and water temps are up a bit.  It’s been busy, but it’s a big river and plenty of places to fish!

Nymphing has been stellar with big Sowbugs (Red Bead Carpet Bugs, Red Bead Rays, Cotton Candy, Pink Bead Carpet Bugs) the whole river.  Read more...
