Bighorn River Spring Condition Update

There is still some time to go as far gathering our Spring water content in the Bighorn Valley.  Currently, the Bighorn River System snowpack is at 97% of normal.  This is the number we like to see!  On the upper drainages (Wyoming), we’re sitting just above normal.  Late season precipitation can all change these, but we are looking really good at the moment. Mid Spring Bighorn River Report

We’re just about there folks.  Increasing numbers of Baetis are abound and a few more fish are looking up.  Water temps are still cooler than normal for this time of year, but the fish are ready to transition into Spring mode.  Any day now!

First of April Bighorn River Update

Things have quieted down a bit this past week.  There are still a handful of folks around, but it will be ramping up here in about a week. Fishing remains solid, and right now is a matter of finding the fish vs. pattern selection.  We had a slight bump in water a few days back and water temps dropped just a bit, keeping our fish in the slower winter-like runs. Mid March Bighorn River Report
