Weather has been up and down but fishing remains good!  Crowds are light and the river is in prime shape, besides the water temp being a bit cold.

Our top nymphs this past week include Cotton Candies, Red Bead Carpet Bugs, Tailwater Sows, Copper Zebras, Green Weenies, UV Scuds and Pill Poppers. Read more...

Spring is here and the fishing has been on fire!  Our Bighorn fish are waking up out of their winter slumber and seem to very hungry.  It’s still mostly a nymphing and streamer deal with the cooler water temps, but should see some fish looking up soon.

The good thing about this time of year is how opportunistic the fish are.  Read more...

Finally!  The weather is nice enough to get out and fish (besides the wind lately).  The folks who made it out the last few days reported pretty epic fishing, mostly nymphs and streamers.  This is one of our favorite times to fish the river as it is at its cleanest point of the year. Read more...

The green water has finally found its way to the Bighorn River.  It happens every year and was a bit later this season.  We’re still catching some fish and seeing some good windows of activity, but with the reduced water clarity expect the fishing to be tougher.  Good news is the crowds are way down, so you’ll practically have the place to yourself. It’s game on here on the Bighorn!  PMD’s showed up big time with the heat wave that hit us.  However you want to catch them (Dries, nymphs, streamers) this is the time!

If you haven’t made a reservation for a Spring trip, we do have a few slots still open.  Read more...

Looks like flows are scheduled to drop to 5500 CFS by Monday afternoon.  From that point, we’ll see, but should keep on the drop. Fishing has been very very good lately with lots of happy anglers out there!

The Baetis are starting to show up and some days we’re finding fish up in the afternoons and evenings.  Read more...

Fishing has been really good the past few days since flows have stabilized and water temps are up a bit.  It’s been busy, but it’s a big river and plenty of places to fish!

Nymphing has been stellar with big Sowbugs (Red Bead Carpet Bugs, Red Bead Rays, Cotton Candy, Pink Bead Carpet Bugs) the whole river.  Read more...

It’s go time on the Bighorn! Our Spring has kicked off and many anglers are enjoying the weather and fishing.  It’s been good overall, but definitely somewhat spotty.  The flows have been on the rise and projected to cap off around 6000 CFS this week.  The river is cold and clear and a bit of drifting moss below 3 Mile, but not too bad!  Read more...

The river is finally waking up and we’re seeing some excellent fishing!  The river is in fantastic shape and flows are right around 3000 cfs.  It was a busy weekend and expect the trend to continue!  We had some guide trips out this past week and they did very well and reported a lot of 16-20″ fish as the norm.  Read more...
