We’re still looking good out here on the Bighorn.  The entire river has been fishing well, besides the slight water adjustments going on.  Flows are up around 1900 CFS and just a bit of salad drifting around with the flow increase.  Water temps are still in the high 40’s – mid 50’s. Read more...

We’re lucky to have the Bighorn in our backyard as a testing ground for new product.  I’ve been waiting all winter for the shipment of the new Orvis Recon to arrive and it walked through the door last week.  Perfect timing for a good weather day on the Bighorn.  I got it rigged up with a Scientific Anglers Anadro 6 wt and went to work. The Bighorn trout continue to eat, despite the slightly off colored water and grass!  The crowds have thinned out for the season and Fall weather is on the way.

It appears as our flows are finally on the way down (9100 CFS as of last night).  This should be the last of it, should be..  Fishing remains really consistent and will only continue to get better as the water comes down, which should be very soon.

Summer dry fly fishing has kicked off and we’re seeing great numbers of PMD’s, Black Caddis and Yellow Sallies.   Read more...
