Bighorn Fishing Update July 25

It’s starting to happen!  The dry fly game is just about on.  PMD’s, Black and Tan Caddis are increasing in numbers, and finally, it’s that time.  It will only get better from here on out.

Bighorn River Fishing Update July 1st

After the massive deluge the states of Montana and Wyoming received this past week, we are seeing the results on our end.  Flows will be on the rise daily and finally at 3750 CFS by Friday afternoon. There’s a really good chance for even higher flows in the near future.  Expect the river to be carrying some ‘salad’ down its entirety throughout the week, but this should also help clean it out a bit.  Read more...

July 1 – Moss Flush

The Bighorn River watershed got some very timely precipitation over the last week or so and as a result flows will bump up to 3750 CFS by end of Friday and remain there for a week or two.  This should expedite the moss break up we’ve already started to see and flush much of it downstream which should only help the nymph fishing. Happy Solstice! – Bighorn River Fishing Report JUNE 24

Good to see some smiling clients get out on the water….FINALLY!  It’s been a busy couple weeks around here at the Angler….FINALLY!

Fishing has been consistent and mostly a nymphing game right now.  Water temps remain in the low to mid 40s with the Baetis and midges singing their swan song after a fantastic spring, surprisingly still seeing some rising pods of fish on the right overcast, cooler days.  Read more...
