Bighorn River flows have settled in @ 2500 CFS the past few days. Fishing remains pretty solid overall. Plenty of big ones still filling the nets and smaller fish as well! It’s been a solid past few days on the Bighorn as fishing has stabilized and has been very consistent, especially for large fish. Our guides are bringing in good numbers of fish as well. Water temps are still a bit cooler but this is great news for the upcoming Summer. Read more...

Fishing is really starting to pick up on the Bighorn. Flows are up to 3200 CFS as of this morning and the river remains nice and clear. It’s getting a bit busier out there, but still plenty of good spots to get into fish.

Recent colder weather reminds us that Spring in Montana can be cruel. It also can result in great fishing, which is where things are headed. Spring is finally here on the Bighorn. It’s getting busier out there but the fishing has been very solid. A bit more dry fly activity and great nymph fishing overall.
The Spring BWO’s are lingering around but haven’t really kicked off yet. I’d say another 10-14 days, but who knows. We just need water temps to jump a couple more degrees to the mid 40’s during the heat of the day and more bugs to get the fish looking at them. Read more...
The Bighorn continues to kick out great fishing as we enter Spring. A-3, 3-B, they’re all good sections to fish right now. There are a few more people around on the weekends and pretty quiet on the weekdays, but overall plenty of room to fish!

It’s finally that time of year where we can get a pretty good read on how the Bighorn River will play out this year. The Graveyard Midge was originated by our friend John Wood, who designed it specifically for Tailwater situations. It has become the new ‘go to’ Midge pupa for guides and anglers on the Bighorn River. The Bighorn can be tied in a multitude of color combinations and they all work! I guess Spring is here?.. The warm weather has brought folks out of the depths of winter and to the Bighorn. A bit busy for this time of year on the weekends, but we’re not complaining! Fishing has been pretty darn good if you’re in the right zones. Many of the fish are found in their normal winter spots, although the water is a bit warmer than normal for this time of year.
