We’re in for cooler conditions this week which should make for some great Baetis fishing.  Water temps are still hovering around the 39-40 degree mark which has kept the fishing pretty good, but we are all looking for the warmup to get here soon!

Great water and weather conditions are on tap for our region, so don’t forget to take Mom fishing this weekend! Spring is crawling in slowly to our region.  Water temps are still well below where they normally are for this time of year, but we don’t have the higher flows (8K +) we saw the previous few Springs, so it’s a bit of a tradeoff. Overall fishing has been a bit off and on. Read more...

Flows came up a bit the past couple days and we’re now at 3500 cfs.  As expected, water temps dipped a bit more but the fish continue to look up.  It’s getting busier out there and the traffic is spread out.  It’s still fishing a little spotty overall, but it’s good once you find them. We’re just about there folks.  Increasing numbers of Baetis are abound and a few more fish are looking up.  Water temps are still cooler than normal for this time of year, but the fish are ready to transition into Spring mode.  Any day now!

Things have quieted down a bit this past week.  There are still a handful of folks around, but it will be ramping up here in about a week. Fishing remains solid, and right now is a matter of finding the fish vs. pattern selection.  We had a slight bump in water a few days back and water temps dropped just a bit, keeping our fish in the slower winter-like runs.
