Conditions on the Bighorn are prime right now for Summer fishing.  PMD’s are still the main event and they are as thick as can be on most days.  It’s a bit busier out there, but with the whole river fishing well, you can pick fish out of many spots.

If you’re looking to hunt fish on the surface, plan on about 1 PM till dark.  Read more...

It’s starting to happen!  The dry fly game is just about on.  PMD’s, Black and Tan Caddis are increasing in numbers, and finally, it’s that time.  It will only get better from here on out.

The Fish are looking as good as they have in years and there are some BIG ONES out there right now.  Read more...

We’re nearing prime summer time and conditions on the Bighorn.  Flows have stabilized at 2500 CFS and the fish have seemed to find their new homes.  Nymphing has been really good and we’re just starting to see a few fish looking up, which should just get better over the next few weeks. Flows have been up and down on the Bighorn, and at this point, we are looking at the later.  The river is scheduled to be at 2500 CFS by the next couple of days and should stay at that level throughout the remainder of the Summer season.

The good news is the fishing has been really goodRead more...

The flow on the Bighorn has settled in at 4000 CFS.  The fish seem to be pretty happy about it and overall the fishing has really picked up.

After the massive deluge the states of Montana and Wyoming received this past week, we are seeing the results on our end.  Flows will be on the rise daily and finally at 3750 CFS by Friday afternoon. There’s a really good chance for even higher flows in the near future.  Expect the river to be carrying some ‘salad’ down its entirety throughout the week, but this should also help clean it out a bit.  Read more...

Good to see some smiling clients get out on the water….FINALLY!  It’s been a busy couple weeks around here at the Angler….FINALLY!

Water levels have come up just a bit the past few days to around 2350 CFS.  The increase in flows has helped out the fishing overall, but it’s not a gimme out there right now.  We still have a good majority of rainbows in the system finishing up the spawn.  Read more...

We’re finally heading in the right direction as far as water is concerned.  The river this past week got a lot lower than what was expected and definitely put some stress on the fish.  Good news is we’re up to 2250 CFS as of yesterday afternoon and the fish should have a few more spots to shift into. Not a whole lot of things have changed the past week on the Bighorn.  Flows are stable at around the 2K CFS mark and the river remains gin clear and there is some moss showing up on the lower river.  This is something we used to see in the lower water years and it will eventually clear out when Summer rolls in.  Read more...
