Looks like it’s just starting to happen here on the Bighorn. We’ve seen decent amounts of fish responding to Black Caddis and PMD’s the past couple days. Expect it to get better and better each day.

We just got word last night that flows are on the drop. The Bighorn will be dropping 250 CFS a day until it reaches 2600 CFS, which should be early next week.

Bighorn River flows are now down to 4500 CFS. Not a lot has changed fishing wise. If anything it’s starting to fish more like Summer and the bugs are right around the corner. Water temps have come up just a bit, which is what we’re looking forward to!

Bighorn River flows continue to drop. We’re at 5500 CFS as of yesterday and the end goal is to be around 4500. According to the BOR, our Summer flows will be somewhere between 2500 and 3500, at some point…

Bighorn River flows have stabilized at 7000 CFS. As of now, we will not see the projected max flow of 9500, which is fine with us! The fish have really settled into their new homes and are eating really well. The river is in fantastic shape with crystal clear flows and water temps are slowly on the rise. Read more...
Wow, what a wild past few days we’ve seen in Montana. Record high streamflows for the Yellowstone basin have resulted in flooding across their entire region. Our thoughts are with those affected in these events.

Flows have stabilized at 4500 CFS and no word if it’s going any higher. Overall the fishing has been great. Still a bit of drifting debris below 3 Mile, but not enough to put off the fishing. The river clarity is phenomenal right now and temps are hanging around in that low to mid 40’s range. Read more...
Flows are on the way up to 4000 CFS by Tuesday. Expect this to stir up the river a bit, but should be good and stable in a couple days. Overall, it’s been fishing pretty good.
