Ok, so there’s definitely some BS with a lot of fishing reports (I try not to), but not right now.  The Bighorn has been fishing pretty insane.  The amount of fish and size of fish just amazes us right now, and it just keeps going!

Pheasant tail season here.  Just about any PT version right now will get you fish all day long.  Read more...

The Bighorn is fishing pretty damn good out there folks.  Don’t need to take our word for it.  Had three clients over the last week come in and tell us it’s the best fishing they’ve ever had.  There’s good reason for that, a smorgasbord of food out there right now…Hoppers, PMDs, yellow sallies, and caddis. BIGHORN RIVER REGIONAL UPDATE –

The Crow Tribe has instituted a great deal of confusion with a recent order indicating they intend to set up roadblocks to turn away non-residents and close the lake and river accesses. In spite of their directive, we have not seen the tribe attempt to interfere in any way with traffic coming down highway 313.  Read more...

Dry fly season is on!  The Bighorn continues to kick out impressive hatches of PMD’s and Black Caddis daily.  Fishing has been great in all aspects (Nymphing, Dry fly, some streamers).  Definitely a few people around, but the fish don’t seem to mind.

If you’re looking to hunt heads, plan on being on the water by about 11 and stay until dark.  Read more...

It’s starting to happen!  The dry fly game is just about on.  PMD’s, Black and Tan Caddis are increasing in numbers, and finally, it’s that time.  It will only get better from here on out.

The Fish are looking as good as they have in years and there are some BIG ONES out there right now.  Read more...

We’re nearing prime summer time and conditions on the Bighorn.  Flows have stabilized at 2500 CFS and the fish have seemed to find their new homes.  Nymphing has been really good and we’re just starting to see a few fish looking up, which should just get better over the next few weeks. Flows have been up and down on the Bighorn, and at this point, we are looking at the later.  The river is scheduled to be at 2500 CFS by the next couple of days and should stay at that level throughout the remainder of the Summer season.

The good news is the fishing has been really goodRead more...

The flow on the Bighorn has settled in at 4000 CFS.  The fish seem to be pretty happy about it and overall the fishing has really picked up.

It appears that the fish are not dialed in on the tiny (20 and 22) Midge and Baetis nymph patterns as much as they were, and are turning in favor towards bigger SowbugsRead more...
